When did that happen?ĭidn't realize that I hadn't posted in here. The Silent and The Defect have a lot more tools to consistently find key cards in larger decks, so it's not as important to have a very small deck.Įdit: I have over 20 hours in this game.
I really like Ironclad's tiny deck builds, but I wasn't ever able to be consistent with them. But if you could instead fallback to Strength stacking or a whirlwind AP build, then you can consistently find success. If you're planning on going Barricade/Body Slam but then don't find your key cards, you're a bit screwed. I think the secret to win streaks is to have a few different "successful" build plans and then be able to quickly understand which one you're building into. I guess I'm still missing some things, because it feels like a decent amount of runs I'm just not finding key cards and hit a wall. I've been reading guides with players getting multiple win streaks. I just got Barricade for the first time and it helped me to understand the importance of keeping a small deck to make sure I could draw it early. I've only played Ironclad so far and got a couple wins.
SLAY THE SPIRE GOLDEN IDOL UPGRADE
I thought to myself "I picked up the Fusion Hammer (can no longer upgrade cards) early on, so I could really use having all my cards upgraded - not being able to heal at campfires doesn't matter (thought I), because I've got this combo that pretty much gives me infinite life."Īnyway, long story short - when they say "blocks all healing," they mean blocks all healing - from all sources.ĭied after taking chip damage from the next four encounters and not being able to do anything about it. Then I came across the event that gives you the option to upgrade all your cards, but blocks healing. I was having a great run with the Defect - powering along through the 3rd floor, (ab)using a combination of the relic that gives +2HP when you play a power, multiple Echo Forms (doubles cards played), and Creative AI (gives you new power cards each turn.) Please hide all spoilers by wrapping the text like >!this!<.While this probably shouldn't have surprised me, given my 129 hours played, I just learned the hard way to always read exactly what a choice/relic does.
